Alliance Committed To Excellence Assessment

The Alliance Committed to Excellence is designed to help ensure that first step is a step in the right direction. Many people think that implementing the EFQM Excellence Model is a long, complex and expensive process. However, that isn’t necessarily true. Implementing the Model can be as simple or as complex as you choose to make it.
Alliance Committed to Excellence is an assessment and recognition scheme that helps you introduce an excellence initiative into your organisation and deliver improved results. It is an action-based learning project that entails identifying, prioritising and implementing improvement projects using the EFQM Excellence Model and RADAR logic.
OPTION 1 – PROJECT VALIDATION
The Project Validation option consists of two stages. In the first, you conduct a simple Self-Assessment against the EFQM Excellence Model, from which you will define 3 improvement plans. In the second stage, an independent Alliance Validator reviews the outcomes delivered from the improvement projects and provides structured feedback.
The process has 5 steps and lasts 9 to 12 months:
At the end of the validation, you will receive a feedback report detailing the strengths and opportunities for improvement observed. If you can demonstrate you managed the improvement projects in a structured fashion and you have made clear progress, you will receive the EFQM Committed to Excellence 1 Star recognition.
OPTION 2 – ASSESSMENT
If you opt for the assessment method, you will need to prepare a short submission document. 2 Alliance Assessors will then spend 1 day on-site to complete 6 themed interviews. They will assess you, and produce a feedback report, against the 9 criteria of the EFQM Excellence Model.
Depending on the score you achieve, you will receive the EFQM Committed to Excellence 1 Star or 2 Star recognition.
EFQM QUICK CHECK SELF-ASSESSMENT
The Quick Check tool has been specially designed for organisations who have not done a self-assessment before. It takes 1 to 2 hours to complete and checks the maturity of the enablers you already have in place. You also rate how important each of these enablers is to achieving your strategy. At the end of the assessment, the 20 enablers are ranked based on a combination of current maturity and strategic importance. This helps identify the priorities you need to focus on. There are also templates in the tool to help structure and track the progress of the improvement projects you select.

The Alliance Committed to Excellence Programme is a simple & easy step for organisations or units who are just beginning to explore ways to improve their business approach. A typical profile of an applicant organisation looks as follows:
- They have experience of introducing improvement initiatives but change is managed ad-hoc, now interested in taking an organisation-wide perspective.
- They measure their performance using mainly internal measures with little use of external comparisons as the basis for target setting.
